Haiku

I have written some haiku today. I adhered to a 5-7-5 syllable pattern as best I could.

Neck & Neck

One-half plus one-half
does not have to equal one;
first is not half won.

Siblings

Brothers are no judges
of blisters from past splinters;
sisters hold grudges.

Dead Heat

A stream down my face,
sweat beads race to beat the heat,
the steam freed from me.

Splitting

My ax by my side,
I put dents in a lady
Accidentally.

Noodles

Orange, dusty night.
Flickering neon dragons
above crowded streets.

Analog Controls

Fast-forward, play, pause,
record, stop, rewind, eject.
Only a human.

Morning Ritual

I slid in snugly,
the heat is overwhelming…
the burst! Breakfast toast.

Zoo Training

When its hands are tied,
be wary of getting close;
kangaroos also kick.
